Select in Layout ?

I have a small problem : i can't select anything visually (with the mouse) in the layout, i can only select through the scene editor or the shematic view.

Did i desactivate something ?

Check your options panel ( 'o' ), "Left Button Item Select".

You're welcome.
I assume you know about the "hold middle mouse button and drag in viewport" bit to multi-select objects?

...me being an oldtimer, I still only use the right mouse button for selection, my age starts to show ;)

yes i found it while trying everything and clicking everywhere, it's a good technique ;)
