Cool! Not sure if such a thing could be built to code on a beach anywhere, but looks like a nice place to hang out!
It could use some edge softening and some more texture refinements, and the rain gutter should probably drain out on the ground instead of going under ground.

Well done mate, inspired by Glenn Murcutt ? You should work on the lighting, it looks a bit flat. Don't fear to use backdrop raydiosity for the exteriors.
Thanks for the comments guys.
blindsided: Considering the location, astronomical. It is waterfront after all. :D
JeffRutan: Agreed. I'm no expert when it comes to texturing but I think the general idea comes across pretty well, but there's always room for improvment. I would add some edge bevelling too but the poly count is approaching seven figures as it is. As for the downpipe, think 'underground water tank' :p :)
ingo: Not specifically Glenn Murcutt but looking at it now I can see the influence myself. He was (and is) one of my architectural 'heroes'. I agree about the lighting too but the high poly count means loooonggg render times with GI enabled and I can't afford to wait 16+ hours for a single frame, (or have the patience for it). :D

I agree that textures are a bit flat, use radiosity to make good effect, but also you could use range for lights, for example 4m linear light dissolve for pointlight. It will make some parts of interior brighter than other which is more realistic. Find plugin TB-edge - it will soft your edges - very useful: http://home.att.ne.jp/omega/tabo/3dlabo/p_lwp.html
cheers

Thanks for the advice Seraph. I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and use radiosity, although I'll need to do some serious poly culling before that.
Thanks also for the plug-in link. I use a Mac and unfortunately I couldn't see any OSX version on the site. Same old story...
