View Full Version : Native 5.1 Surround Sound Authoring
So I don't have to use Vegas 4.0+DVD.
D1 Uncompressed with 5.1 Surround. How frikkin' cool would that be? Not to mention the pleasure of editing in true realtime vs. some clunky DV app.
Yeah, I'm probably asking for too much again....

I'm not after 5.1 sound, but Paul, is it going to be possible to render AC3 3 channel sound out of TED? You've said we'll be able to render the timeline directly into TMPGenc, but TMPGenc doesn't handle sound very well at all. So is there going to be a way to get the basic AC3 out of the editor?
Please say yes! I want to uninstall Vegas 4 so freaking bad!

I'll find out, Brian.
I am interested in 5.1 Surround, which is why I posted this thread under this title!
Regarding 5.1 Surround production, it looks like I may have a solution until NewTek decides to address it:

I would consider putting Premiere onto my DAW along with Sonic Foundry, n-track studio and other audio apps with a 5.1 audio card. Edit in TEd, then "AVI wrapper" the .rtv files over and do my 5.1/DVD Mastering on this workstation...
I drool at having this much audio control within the NLE.
drool-drool-slobber-drool!
