I have not done my required studying of the manual, but I need to know if there is any way that I can have an edited video cut to a live source in the timeline? I have pre-recorded footage for a stage show that has blank spots where the live feeds should be inserted. Also, is there any way to get two seperate video streams out of the SX-8 for use with two screens? We have effects that have a person walking from one screen to the next, but cannot do this unless we have another deck being controlled via the 422 port. It sure would be nice to have both coming from the Toaster.

There are no target croutons to perform such a function yet, but this has been discussed internally (having input icons that hit the switcher at that point).

Would it not be a workable alternative to take advantage of VT[3]'s ability to dissolve out of a DDR clip?
One would split the project into two or more subPs, at the points where cutaways were needed. Then load the subP's into a DDR (racking up the DDR resources in Prefs to be able to handle project playback), finally using Cue/Pause with Auto to transition back and forth from edited segments to live action.

Steve: I need to keep everything rolling with a MAG track for the audio that is being put out over the PA. I was thinking about running two DDR's of the same video that are staggered to give me cues. I will probably put something in the black areas to protect me from projecting nothing.
Paul: That crouton edit function would have made my life so easy it probably wouldn't have been fair. I guess I am stuck with the t-bar for 25 shows....
If any of your crew likes Queensr˙che or Dream Theater let them know that I am offering tickets and backstage to anyone that can solve this for me.. :-)
We are actually opening the tour in Texas on the 22nd of June. I think that there are two stops (Houston and Dallas). I will be cherry on the system having only two rehearsals by then but if I could automate some of it......
