I'm not doing something right. I've just switched to a dual-monitor setup, but I cannot get any VT modules on the 2nd screen. For example, I open Toaster CG and drag it to the 2nd monitor. Toaster CG then begins to flicker like crazy while dragging it over, and once I let go to keep it on the 2nd monitor, it pops back over to the first.

What could I be doing wrong? Windows applications seem to work fine. I have the correct drivers installed for the video card as well. Thanks.

What video card are you using? I'm doing this just fine with a GeForce4 440MX card, but I've head of difficulties with other cards, such as ATI.

I have a Radeon 7000 with a dual DVI cable plugged into two 19" Dell flat panels. Upon launching VT2, it only uses one screen. I can drag (and use) different modules over to the 2nd screen, as long as I keep a small portion of the module on the 1st screen, even if it's only a pixel or 2 wide. But once I try to have the entire module only on the 2nd screen, it freaks out and puts it back on monitor 1. Kinda weird.

Is there a driver update available on ATI's site for the Radeon?

I just reinstalled the latest drivers from ATI and have the same problem. I can sort of work around it by dragging a toaster window to the 2nd monitor but leaving a small portion of it on the 1st monitor, but that can't be right. I also noticed that toaster vision doesn't display on the 2nd monitor at all, so maybe overlay is part of my problem...

I had the same problem.... you need to reset the windows display settings back to a single monitor, 1280 X 1024. Then go to the NVidia software and make sure the manager is off and then set the resolution to 2560 X 1024. That will spread your work area across the 2 displays. You're trying to do it in Windoze but it doesn't work there. I'm not on the machine right now, so this might not be absolutely correct, but it will get you in the ballpark.

After the last post I want to point out NVidia drivers are for the NVidia chipset Graphics cards (GeForce) not ATI.

Do a search on this forum looking for info on ATI. I've heard of problems with the ATI Dual setups. About a year ago I tried an ATI Radeon VE (Dual) I couldn't get it to work properly so I switched to an NVidia Geforce MX with dual display.
Works Fine.

Good luck... it might be just a driver issue but unless you are broke, if you want dual display I'd spend the $90 bucks for an NVidia chipset card. It will work.

Among other things, make sure you have the same resolution on both monitors.

Yeah, I had them initially set to have the same resolutions. I'll try what you suggested, but I don't see any place in the ATI control panel to have a resolution at 2560 X 1024. I'll keep messing around, and do some more ATI searches. Thanks guys.

Exactly the same problem here.
I have a PNY quadro 980 XGL with the latest drivers.
(Winxp)
I'm going to try the 2560x1024 thing.

Did this thread pop up to the top from weeks back?

All the dates indicate that it is current but I'm either experincing time travel or something else is up with the dates.
