Hi everybody!

Just to get more fun while waiting for LW 9 to come out, this is my plugin to render SIRDS [Single Image Random Dot Stereograms].

I think all of you have seen these strange images over Internet. Those of you who managed to see them in stereo, know very well that they have one big drawback - they miss real image colors.
This plugin is my experiment - to try to make really coloured SIRDS.
And now you can make them!
Also I tried to enhance well-known SIRDS algoritm to get even better depth resolution than usually you could come across with.
And one more: to get even better SIRDS quality, I suggest you to render image larger size and then scale it down. Use "Scale" setting in this case - it will prepare your image to be scaled down later.

Happy viewing...
... and take care of your eyes :)

P.S. Antialiasing is not necessary, trust me

You Rock!
Thankyou!

I love Stereograms, i often wondered if it were possible to do this...

Cool!

If anybody will render some stereograms, I suggest to stack them here - for everybody to see!

errrr...how short sighted do i have to be to actually see anything in these things? I never have been able to see anything in them besides some patterned noise...

It helps if you bring your nose right up to the picture. Go cross-eyed and gradually move your head back from the picture. At some point, it should just snap in. The trick is to not do too much with your eyes - don't try to see the picture, there is no picture. ;)

Or print it, then look past it. The trick is to focus "beyond" the screen so your eye snaps in. I could never do these, but found a great way was to have my screen catching reflections in sunlight. By focussing on the reflection, it allowed my eyes to 'catch' the image. After a while, you can train your eyes to automatically focus at some chosen point and the images really kick in.
A friend of mine has this down pat, she just looks at the image and can tell you what it is within a second or two. :)

yea, your right, it was the 3D view that LW does for those different colored glasses that it does.
