Is it possible to import Dxf or Dwg files? I can see that there is a plugin to import eps files and that you can export Dxf and Dwg files.
Appreciate any help.

Hi Matt,
DXF is possible, though it only imports certain entities, and it depends on the creation of the CAD Data.
You might prefer to go through a third party utility like polytrans or rhino.
If you can get your hands on .stl files, check out this thread: http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2300

In my experience you can simply open .dxf files.
Just Load Object in Modeler, and choose Show:All Documents from the Load Object browser. Navigate to the .dxf file you want, and click on it. It might need a bit of repair work; merging points and so on, and it won't have any surfaces of course. But you can generally use it with a minimum of fuss. Certainly faster than rebuilding it in most cases.
Please accept my apology if you knew all that and were after a more elegant solution.

There is a problem with certain .dxf files. Some are not save as 3D objects. Unless it was saved as such, even if you can open the file, nothing will be imported.
