Tonight I used the Tricaster to live shoot an orchestra with 3 cameras. I shot for 30 minutes and stopped for intermission. I recorded again and it froze after 5 minutes. I had to hard boot and lost that 5 minutes. I shot again for the remainder. I would like help with 3 problems:
Why did it freeze?
On playback using Windows Media, a part of it plays back in fast motion.
When I transfer the avi files to a portable hardrive to transfer over to my main system for DVD, only the audio will transfer.
Any help is appreciated.

Is the NewTek CODEC on your recieving system? Only audio plays on Media player for me on a system without it!
Installing the CODEC now,

Yes the codec is on the editing system. I still have not figured out the fast motion quirk. I belive the rest is due to Adobe Pro not recognizing the codec.

Fast motion usually means that the drive couldn't keep up with the video recording, causing it to only record every other frame, possibly less. This would give a double speed playback look.
The first thing I would do is to defrag the hard drive using the Admin Panel icon. If it still has this problem, call tech support. The freeze and the odd capture could be symptoms of a bigger problem.
You might also check with tech support on the codec problems. They may have a newer version of the codec, depending on when you recieved your TriCaster.

Thanks for those tips. I'll defrag even tho I only have a few files on the system. It's a new tricaster and I have the latest codec. The latest DVD I tried to make has additional problems. I'll post that one too!
