I have built a small studio, where I am working with green chromakey
backgrounds and have put a lot of effort into lighting the set.
When I use the chromakey functions in VT4 the end result is full of
pixels and horrible. What could be the cause of this? :help:

There are tons of threads on Chroma Key if you search. But in brief, are you shooting on DV?
There are 118 threads if you go here.

First off use your highest quality camera, preferably 3-chip. Then bring it into the VT via YUV or Y/C cables, not composite. Composite will give you shimmering edges that don't key well.
If possible, avoid compressing the video at any point, such as DV tape or compressed codecs in the PC. Uncompressed AVI or RTV's will key best in post.
A third trick is to minimize spill on your talent by putting an opposite color gel. on your back lights and hair lights. Purple for Green screen, Orange for Blue Screen. This will make the edges whiter instead of geen or blue.

Best of luck to you,
