I am about to Render a 14400x4500 Pixel wide Image with Raytracing Option on (Recursion limit set to 2) and 3 4096x4096 Pixel wide Alpha chanelled Texturemaps loaded.
Now when I want to render the Image i always get the error "Not enough Memory for Buffer". Rendering in multiple Seqments does not help too.
I have 2 gigs of Ram. Is there anything i might have forgotten? Lightwave is told to render up to 16000x16000 Pixel wide. How can this be done then? I feel pretty desperate -> thanks for any hint.

Yeh, I know that feeling having to render print-res material from some of our TV stuff... In the end I found the only way to render a 12000x3500 image was to get a scene cutting plugin or tool, to essentially chop that image up into lots of smaller portions...
This usually means a lot of small scene files to render... You'd have to batch render them, or do them one-by-one.
Of course, this meant someone had to re-assemble them in photoshop, but it did the job (I had to keep cranking it up until it worked - For the image I did, I ended up with 36 (6x6) chunks!)
Heres the one I used 'DivideScene' - Its free, from DStorm.

To batch render, DStorm also make a very SIMPLE and easy to use standalone rendering tool called LWSN Controller (also free):

Kevin,
Very cool plugin.
Thanks for the tip.
I know this will come in handy.
