View Full Version : Follower bugged ?
I tried everything, I'm on it since a very long time and I can't figure out how follower works !
In fact, It is nearly impossible to have an object aligned to the path of the target object !! (pitch, bank, heading) ( ...and when following curved paths)
Oh yes, it follows on X, Y an Z axis, but that's all it can do.
To my mind, the align to path option doesn't work at all.
Does anybody knows of any alternative ?

What exactly are you trying to do, maybe this is the wrong tool to use.
I am trying to have a ship following a null object along a curved path.
(I define the motion ot the null and then apply follower to the ship, setting the null as the object to follow).
And of course, I want the ship to follow the curve of the trajectory on the H and P axis.
I thought it was possible to do that with the "align to path" option. But it seems not.
Or maybe I do something wrong ?

have you tried using curve constraint. that works to following a path. I did a truck following a curve [road] here (http://www.imagereality.com/Images/NewtekImages/Mov/CurveConstraint.mov).

Follower should work even with align to path.
I used this method here http://onthez.com/animation/hummerH2.mpg 21mb
Make sure you are using the align to path in the follower settings, and not in the Motion Options menu.
Another solution would be to use channel follower on the x, y, and z channels in the graph editor, then use align to path in the Motion Options menu.
