I've been working on my modeling skills,.. a little rusty. Anyway, .. this is the result of 2 days work so far. I am still adding details and then I'll texture it. I've been using Vertibevel, Rounder, and David Ikeda's free plugs.

Your modeling skills are out there, buddy. You're there.
Great looking tank, lots of cool detail in the tracks area.
Did you model all those rivets, or bump map?

Thanks :)
No image maps yet,.. it's all mesh so far.

First of all, a hearty hip-hip-hooray for choosing to model not one of the cool, tough, or sexy tanks, but just a good old workhorse with funny looks.:D

Great job modeling in general -- but... what the heck is going on with the 37mm barrel? I've never seen a Grant/Lee with anything like that!
Also the 75mm seems too tapered, and the cupola looks oversized to me, but that might just be the angle.

Anyhow, keep it up -- I'm looking forward to the finished product.

Thanks for the comments cathuria. I liked this tank because it was so ugly :0). Anyway,.. you are right about the guns. I know they aren't accurate. I've had to eyeball the specs as I've had trouble finding good reference images. Anyway,.. I'll keep at it and pay extra attention to those guns as I finish it.

If it's not too late into your project, I can scan in a raft of reference images from the books in my library. As a kid, I was never into cars, you see -- cars didn't blow stuff up.

That would be great, if you have the time :-)

Fortunately, I didn't end up at the movies this afternoon -- so, nothing much better to do than to help out a silly-looking tank.:)

I've scanned in some good images, just over 900k total (some of 'em are BIG), but not all of the precise variant you're working on. Be happy to email them to you if you like.

And if you haven't already, there are some 3-views for download at www.suurland.com

E-mail would be great.

I did get that image from that site, but it was so lo-rez that is wasn't much help.

Thanks!
