Animating Wrestling Ring Ropes/Canvas

I am trying to animate the ring canvas and ropes using softbody animation but I am finding it extremely hard to do so...if anyone has any suggestions, i will take them, I just began learning this...

Hey Eternal,

If you download the new 7.5c it comes with a motion plugin called Splinimate. It allows you to control objects with a spline. Should be perfect for ropes. Let me know how it goes because I am doing a scene where a character climbs a rope.

I wonder if you can "pin" the ends of the ropes with that splinimate plugin so the rope doesn't move at the ends where its attached to the poles.
