this is something i started yesterday just to do it. it is starting to annoy me though because i cant seem to reach the point of realism.
any suggestions.

Hey you're sure cranking out the models. I think the things that make it less realistic for me are:
1. The jaggies on the Sign In Here sign.
2. The very dark grain on both the chairs and floor
3. The shininess on the chairs.
I think if you dull those a bit and blend the grain more it will look very realistic!

My! That looks like a torture test for phych evaluations or the job inteview from heck! Waiting on those hard benches next to a high window with no apparent guard rail!
Is this some kind of sick joke ;-)
Keep it up!
Didn't know **** was a bad word? It is a proper mythical or real place, right?

Do you sign in there before you leap to your death? I might add something to the window, some streaks or reflection or something to show that there is indeed a pane of glass there.

:agree: Doesn't look like there is a window.

there was no window in that render actually because i was having trouble with the transparancy, which i have now fixed.
the image is definitly starting to look better but, it is not yet to the point of realism.

to me, it looks like it's a grey nasty day outside, but i get the sense from the light coming in through the window and hitting the floor and walls that it's sunny outside...

exactly what I was thinking before I read DrTWTs post.
maybe you should put a little bluishgrey color on the light that is shining in.

looking good, like the floorboards but its fairly obvious where the texture repeats. Maybe add a windowledge and some grime in corners, on surfaces and a few random dents or marks on the walls.

Looking better, but also need some work on some edges - like the picture frame and the floor boards - edges too sharp.
The back edge of the sign appears to be floating - not touching the table surface - shadow/reflection there is not right. Still need a window.

i kinda decided to have some fun and go with jeff and hrgiger on the concept.
i think i will probably add some digital conf to the second picture to focus attention.
not really completly what i am going for... i think.
but anyways what yall think.

Getting better each time!
I don't get what the black shroud is, but it does point out that the absence of a window is deliberate!
Is that part of the last guy's jacket?
If you are going for morbid - you need a fountain pen and a bottle of blood red ink on the table?
Maybe a pigeon sitting on the ledge looking down like something just happened?
I'd stick a diving board in :)

Yes, a diving board or pirate plank would remove all doubt! ;-)
