Motion Modifiers Not Saving With Scene

I am really new to LW so please bear with me on this question:

I am creating the obligitory newbie 3D flying text style animation and have the first letter of my word on a key framed path. All the other letters in the word are using the motion modifier "follower" set to follow the first letter. When I quit out of LW and reload my scene all my follower settings have vanished and I have to reset them.

Is there any way to stop this from happening?

Also,
Being a newbie I was trying all the buttons in LW and added a glow to the surface of one object in my scene(Surface Editor/Advanced/Glow Intensity). I didn't like it and reset the value back to zero. Even though I have removed the glow now when I render the scene the little render window slows down and adds "rendering glow" which takes ages. I have removed the suface and relaced it with a another one but it still renders glow. Again ...
Is there any way to stop this from happening?

for the glow, go in effects, then the tab "image processing", and here click glow square button off....

Save all objects might save the motion modifiers as well.
