I have been working out how to animate him using the timeline and Motion Mixer. Lots of fun. I'll post the animation when I am ready for crit:)

I like the design style of your dragon and scene. Yep, I think some mist coming out from the crater thingy would look cool.

Very cute. To be nit-picky: in the animation he seems to have some polys folding over on themselves at his shoulders. Barely noticable though.
