Hey guys.... sorry for the barrage of dynamics questions... maybe someone can recommend a book? :) haha...
anyway, im putting this as a seperate thread to keep the ideas seperate, though it is somewhat related to the hardlink ropebridge thread.
my initial idea for making the ropes, was to make a highpoly twisted rope, and aniamte it with a metalinked 2 point poly chain. the animating of the poly chain worked fine, however, when i parented the high poly rope to it and assigned metalink, things went caaaRAYzee! simply put, the results were not what i wanted or expected. segments of the high poly rope were everywhere and seemingly doing nonesensical things.
so, i think i read somewhere the metalink was kinda sketchy at times. can anyone offer some pointers on making this work a little more reliably? or, failing that, offer a better suggestion for animation ropes with attached footboards that are blowing around in the wind?
Thanx everyone :)
