We will be getting the T-3, Upgrading our T-2 and I was wondering... Will all of the stuff (Edit Projects, CG Projects etc.) still be useable in the new program?

With all of the changes, splines, etc. I wouldn't count on that.
It should be.
The only problem you might find is various settings like Chroma Key levels, color correction levels and the like migh be different because they have changed/improved so much in these areas.
But all your clips, projects and renders should be fine.
This is only a guess, so don't hate me if I'm wrong!;)
I would say whenever you upgrade the software (especially to a whole new version number like this) that should try (if at all possible) to complete your project(s). At the very least, you might want to render the project (aka back up) just in case.
Worst case then is that you load the rendered file in & edit from there.
Actually, if you are careful where you save your files (I always save everything (clips, music, cg's, project file, etc) into a project folder on the video drive), then the only thing that might get screwy would be some settings.
Also I would be prepared if CG projects got messed up after the switch to VT[3].
Having said all this - I bet Newtek will say that most if not all will be backward compatable - but still they should make it very clear before you install.

I certainly would agree with that, but I'm not going to tempt fate. I plan to curb my enthusiasm and finish up all projects I have started in [2] before installing [3]. I'll probably try to schedule things so I have a couple of days of 'playing' (eh Ted? ;) ) before producing a project.
Ah yes, I remember when work was "Play".
And sometimes, Play was a lot of work!:D

I know it accepts T2 CG projects, and I'm fairly certain it will accept TEd projects as well.

Good, now all of our backed up projects will not have been wasted. :)

How about custom DVEs? I'll be getting my VT[3] beta on Friday (hopefully) and want to do some live switching for a party at our local Hard Rock cafe with electric guitars falling and the band's logo etc incorporated into the DVE. Anyone know? (specifically Paul, as you're the only one with any inside technical information)

Yes, any custom DVE you've created in VT [2] will still work fine with VT [3].
