textureing question

can anybody tell me how Rob Pauza textured the top of his raptor?

the tutorial shows the sides but how obout the top? it seems to match...

He probably made his uv map from an unwelded endomorph.
That's what I do anyways, for complex subD objects. I have a tut. that shows a workaround for the distortion issue.
