Hi!
How i can make animated realistic waves from yacht?

Good start, as for the waves... You could use realflow, although costly. I've not looked at it much but Blender (http://www.blender.org/cms/Fluids_simulation.675.0.html) may work. You could also look at Larry's waves and ocean stuff (http://www.3dtrainingonline.com/lightwavefxseries.htm), and Larry's Endomorph and displacement 1 (http://www.3dtrainingonline.com/displacements.htm) and 2 (http://www.3dtrainingonline.com/displacements2.htm)...

Hope this helps..

Hi !

very nice renders as otacon mentioned. I'd change color of yacht (it looks too much like car paint right now) but sea is very good. I don't know how to help you about animated waves but take a look at NewTeks Video gallery and download that "Hypervoxels" demonstration. I've always been impressed by that short video but never had time to try something like that. So you might contact author and ask him how he did that waves at sea under HV comet :).

here is link to video gallery and direct one for HV comet above sea level.

Thank you very much Lewis.
Animation coming soon.
Render time took about 12 min per frame without HiperVoxels:thumbsdow

Shiny! I really like the lighting as well.

You could do worse than look at the "typ21" scene that came with your LightWave content CDs - it's a submarine surfacing, and has some lovely bow-wave and spray stuff going on.

Then again, the water on that last render's very nice. Maybe a bit of spray and a reverse-facing curl of water?

Yes this is looking better and better.

Oh, that's nice. I hate to crit such a nice render, but the bow to water interface could really do with some sharpening and some spray. Aside from that, I can taste the pina colada :)

Very nice update with the animation, I agree with Bog, add some spray, the only other thing is that the yacht does not have any bounce to it...

Beautiful update :). Now make some fishes or dolphins jump out of water and distant island in background (with palm trees) and you have realistic setup :).

Nice animation. I would add a little fog to blend the horizon into the sky.
Can i ask how are you doing the wave?

Use Displacements maps for the ocean. parent them to your boat, so they travel with it, and do the rest with procedurals and gradients... to produce foam on top of the displacement.

For starters, you need to displace the waves (flatten out) behind the boat, and a displacement for the divergent waves coming of the bow. Then use an Alpha on those waves to smooth them out to the ocean (so the effect fades away).

Use the same alpha to the colormaps that don't travel with your boat but are on World Coordinates.

This is just a start... in the end you'll finish with something like 20 maps to do the job... and for a finishing touch you'll have to use Expressions to program sertain effects.

Well.. have fun ;) It looks nice, but your far from finished!

ps: lose the skytracer and use a real photo background mapped on a Hemisphere. Try some fog for the far distance, you can find examples when you look out your window!
