Decided to try my hand at an interior. This is just the basic room I built last night and here's the radiosity rendering. I've always wanted an indoor pool. There's still much to do yet... The Lighting isn't final by any means, it's just a few shadow mapped spotlights thrown outside the two windows. There's still going to be a skylight for a third light source yet. I may also do a version at night with lights in the pool.

Im liking it!! Cant say to much in the way of critique just now because of its simplicity,as you stated, there is more to do.. I love the sense of depth the B/W images have.

Take care

I like it -- very nice setting.
The water looks too wavy (unless someone just jumped in the pool:) ).
And if you've got the time, this is the sort of structure that could benefit dramatically from multi-bounce radiosity.

Thanks for the responses.

Herve'- Not really. I am basing it off of a picture I saw but I'm being pretty loose with it's recreation.

Cathuria- Yeah, multi-bounce. Like I said, this is just the start and the lighting solution was just a quick one. Not meant to be a final or anything. Same for the water. It will probably be still water when I'm finished but for showcase purposes, it's easier to show that it is water if there were some ripples.

You see , I really like the ambiance you made there, clean reading of the architecture while in the same time very "intimist" soft feelings... really good..!

Another render after doing some work on the floor. It's a little grainy but that's just because of the radiosity. As it was, it took about 5 hours to render which is just about how long I had to work tonight or I would have set it higher. Still have much to do...

the overall brightness of the second one is better, however some areas are way blown out, and some are still to uniform. The pool would look cool with some underwater lights. Just an idea, but turn the luminosity of the water up based on a few cool gradients and bump maps. Just a thought, but it could look kinda cool.

this is one of the greatest scene i ever seen, the water is extemely tight, there's not too many people who can do the same ...

Here's a small render with the lighting being a little closer to what I want in the finished version...

Very cool hrgiger ! yeah the water look real good, but for my part I liked the B&W better, just a question of feeling...
