I have a project that I need to do. It's a still image but I need to show a vehicle bursting out of either paper or water or something. I don't know how exactly to do this but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Arlen

You could use 2 peices of paper which the ends are touching side to side. Use a weight map on that edge of each paper. Then use Motion Designer on the papers and the object to bust through the paper.
Here's a quick example I just did for you:

the source files are here: www.pixelmonk.com/desktop.zip (the sdfsd file is the correct mdd file). You'll obviously need to make a higher rez version of your papers.

ah ha! I never thought of that. I guess I should look at adding some paper textures to paper to make it more realistic. I'll give it a shot and let you know
Thanks!

I remember a commercial for a car recently on TV and is now in the movie theaters that show a Toyota that is pealing away (2d to actual image) as it's driving through town. It thought of that, but I can't remember where I saw the tutorial...
