OK, I gave that a try. But now I see something that's really spooky. My full version of LW has converted to the Discovery Edition, WATER MARK AND ALL!!! How did this happen?

Supposedly, it uses an experimental renderer that sacrifices quality for the sake of speed. At least that's what I've read.
I read about this in 3DWorld, can't recall exactly what it said but I remember something about stepping of IK.

Yeah seems like it's about experimantal IK settings...
someone posted this on the plugin mailing list recently:
"Here, I will "paste" a documet I have found on this subject on flay.com,
but some of the steps don't work in LW 7.5b.
(....)
And finally, Michael Blackbourn sends in a tip on how to improve your IK speed in Layout.
This one's at your own risk and is part of LW's "Experimental Features":
First enable the experimental features in LW (crtl-alt-shift-f1)
Then bring up the experimental IK options (crtl-alt-shift-f3)
The options are:
Max
Min
Step Factor
Iterations
I've found that I can double my FPS in layout by changing the values to:
Max: 0.5
Min: 0.002
Step Factor: .3
Iterations: 200
With almost no accuracy loss in the IK solution.
Some values can go to much higher or lower with more speed increase, but will affect different numbers of chains/characters differently. Whats acceptable for 1 setup might not work well for another."

Well, the panels are there, but i didn't feel the urge to experiment yet :D
