Here is a still image I am working on. just got Vue a couple weeks ago and used it to render this image. Windmill and house models done in Lightwave.

nj3Design,
Wow! That windmill is awesome, as is the ighting!
Just got LW (had Vue), and can't wait to model some neat buildings like you have done!
Carry on!
God bless,
Jason

very nice. i have been tinkering with vue a little and can tell you are definitely using it well. did you have to export the windmill to another program to maintain the uv mapping? i had problems with that. really cool windmill and scene.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I had to fiddle a bit with exporting from Lightwave to Vue. I found that I didn't run into any texturing problems as long a I triple polys in Lightwave before exporting. I think Vue seems to render surfaces and textures properly when they are made of 3 point polys. I havent really run into any big UV mapping problems yet though. Let me know if this works for you.

Thats a very nice sky you have there - I can tell it's not skytracer!

Very nice scene. One question though - why did you not export the trees into LightWave, or is it easier to import the .lwo models into Vue?

I have Vue myself but I just can't be bothered with it :thumbsdow

I found it easier to import the Lightwave models into Vue because I found it saves alot of time when setting up certain types of scenes. I can quickly load up an ecosystem and customise it and just drop in some trees.

On the other hand if I had a lot of Lightwave modeled objects and only needed a few Vue trees in my scene I would consider exporting the trees from Vue to Lightwave instead.

Nice :D Did you have any problems getting both objects into Vue with the same scaling? I recently tried to get a house and the environment into Vue from Lightwave and they both seemed to have their own scales - so the environment was as small as the house!

I havent run into any problems with scaling yet really, although I did have to scale up both objects a bit instead of scaling down the ecosystem so the plants and flowers looked proportional to the buildings.
