I would like to create an aurora borealis...do you guys know of a tutorial that is available for creating one?

Thanks

Don't know of any specific tutorials, but a good starting point would be to look at some actual auroral displays (search online or look up, depending where you live).

Aurorae tend to come in two main forms. Depending which you want, the animation process would be different. There are some that look like a curtain blowing in the wind, and others that look like streaming rays. The former could be done by modifying the flag tutorial that comes with LW, the latter with volumetric light and a time variable propagation distance.

In either case, the object would be partially transparent, and colored using the natural auroral yellows, greens and reds. Of course, if you're working on another planet with a different atmosphere, any colors could be "natural."

What about using sprites to a spline

To be honest, I haven't learned how to use sprites yet. I'm like 3 months into LW and still learning. Perhaps someone else fluent in sprites will pick up on this question?

open and disect the scene in

Content/_Features/Volumetrics/hypervoxels/HV_Nebula.lws

In order to drop render times once you have the scene open,
open the hypervoxels pannel (Scene Tab). Select Nebula One
and change the Object Type to Sprite, do the same for Nebula Two.

Hypervoxel Sprite Mode is basically a way to render Volume
Hypervoxels, except it renders "slices' of the volum mass. you can select the number of 'slices' up to 7 on the Shading / Basic tab
on the HV pannel.

this scene basically has 2 nulls with HV's applied to them.
