motion path to spline/ curve ???

wanted to know how i could export an objects motion path and open it in modeler as a spline or a curve

If I'm not mistaking there is a plugin called something like path2curve or path2spline. Something along that line. Have you tried checking http://www.flay.com ?

checked on flay founnd the plugin its called Motion to Path but it was for lw 5x and the link was dead thanks for the reply though and please if u find the plugin do post a link

You can export motion path from Layout as a .MOT file which lists the X,Y,Z,H,P,B of the described motion.

You'd think there would be a built in 'Import Motion' option in Modeler, but nope!

Wouldn't be that hard to write seen as the motion file is just text . . . .

There's loads of plugins going the other way (Modeller -> Layout) wonder why not so this way?

Maybe a small feature request for v8?

thanks a lot for ur help, was wondering the same thing i found so many scripts for converting curves to motion files but just 1(there might be more didnt find them though) to do the opposite, seemed very strange to me cause sometimes it really helps to work the other way round
