hey,
im currently modeling a lexus IS200 and ive come to bumpmapping the tire tread and it just aint working properly, below theres a pic of whats happening. plz nething to help would be great

Hi,
there doesn't seem to be any picture.. if you're after a really good looking tyre then the bad news is that you need actual geometry,

This is a site that I have found that helped me out dramatically with modeling tires. I agree with JW, if you want a good looking tire and need to have it photorealistic, then you're going to have to model the geometry. ;)

Also, Check out Dan's site at www.3dgarage.com for another tire tutorial. A free downloadable video (in parts) that is nearly an hour long. Goes thru a lot of good pointers.
