sparkled header

i have a header for a site and i want to make it into an animation where it sparkles every now and again.

does anyone know how to animate this or it their a plugin that can do this?

It might help to see the still version...

But depending on how subtle you want it to be, I had good results with a very small lens flare on a letter corner - because only a small element changes, you get a nice compact animated gif out. (and it doesn't distract from the main text!).

Add some rotation as it flares for added visual interest.

As an alternative to add visual interest to text, I also tried bevelling the text, and rotating the light, so that the specular highlight slid around the edge of the text. Again only a small part moves, so it compresses well.
