:) Hi everyone, I see a lot of people rendering their images with other renderers such as fPrime and VRay. is this better than lightwaves because im considering getting one? is there one that anybody could recommend?

thanks :)

fprime for the individual artist is like a one-machine-renderfarm of power. it's brilliant and changes the way the artist works almost entirely (IMHO). It isn't network renderable right now though so it's uses in production can be limited to previewing rather than rendering. Still worth it just for that though.

Vray isn't for Lightwave (at least not at the moment), so I'll assume you're talking about Kray.
I've never used Kray, so users feel free to chime in here. From what I understand it's a great radiosity renderer and allows for radiosity caching, but it's external and doesn't accept procedural textures, shaders, and such, unless they are baked to images.

thanks for that :) do you know of any other renderers that are for lightwave?
or is their only Kray.

and the next one isn't really still around (bought by autodesk and became Autodesk VIS), but you could probably get if from a user that kept it around...
