Ratation overcorrecting

I know there is a switch for this and I cant seem to find it.
When Im spinning or moving an object in different directions the object over compinsates , it keeps turning in the 1st direction or moves in the same direction after Ive keyframed it to go another direction.
I hope this makes since

graph editor.
look at your curve... its smooth and spliney.
select the key, and the key after it.
set incoming curve to "linear".
look at your animation curve... it is now straight.

Actually (sorry eblu), never, never, never use linear (unless you have a really good reason). You will get choppy motion if you use linear.
Try adjusting tension (slows up / speeds down the curve at the point) or bias (moves the overshooting part form one side of the point to the other).
