You may only attach files with several extensions, I think.

Maybe You have to put Your animation in a zip-file?

about your signature. I can safely say that is incorrect. I have patience, and so, I might add, does everyone else on this forum. After all, we are using 3D software...:D

Hello Jimzip,

I hope you have patience if you are using lightwave on the MAc. We are forced to use LW on the Mac at school and it is so terriblly slow! I usually just sit there frustrated :(

I do agree with you that we all have/need patience especially when we are learning 3d.

Hello Jimzip,

Oh i know it was just humor, I meant to be humorous too. I hope I didnt sound cruel or something.

Yeah the funny thing is my school bout osx during the summer or sometime last semester and they still havent installed it. I think they are training the techs on or or something. Maybe they are just being lazy. Anyways, we are stuck using 9.x for the time being.

ANd LW just sucks on the macs they have at school. I dont know why the school persists in using them. I dont know any one who uses a mac at home. So, it just seems to be a big inconvienance for the students. I get all sorts of open gl problems and they even put in newer ati 9700 cards ( i think that is what they are, I am not to familiar with ati, i do know they have 64 megs of ram) and my geforce 2 ultra just blows them away on my pc.

I think apple must give them away to schools or something!

Yep, there's the problem.
OS 9. It really, in a word, sucked.
Schools seem to buy the Macs in bulk, especially i- or eMacs, because they get them for good prices, they're easy to use, and the teachers don't have to fight Windows. But I do agree, I was one of four guys out of three hundred that used Macs in my year. My school seems to have been all Mac for a while. I was using the Apple IIe's in prep year, and other Macs right through to year seven, there were no PC's at my school to use..
>PANT< (Whoa, take a breath time.. )

Anyway, if you've used Lightwave in OS X, you have to notice the performance increase. "System Requirements(For installation of Lightwave): Mac OS 9, 384MB RAM.... OS X, 128MB RAM.." It kinda speaks volumes for the way the old OS used memory.

Anyway, no, you didn't sound cruel.

I have heard the the OSX uses memory now like windows.

Well we have crap loads of pc at school but the art dept has only macs:(

Hey, one of my good friends is from Melbourne, but one day his crazy dad decided not to be a lawyer anymore and bought an olive farm in Mudgee!!

Yes well... That's... Cool..

Anyway, dynamically allocating memory to apps should have been in the Mac OS for yonks. I guess UNIX really drives new developement now. Ahhh. UNIX...:D

If there are only Macs in the art department, then it' probably because the school bought them years ago. People in the design industry that I know usually say that they use Macs, they're kinda made more for graphics than business use, thus- macs in art department (same as my old school mind you), PC's in 'computer labs' or whatever.
