Mirroring Geometry

Has anyone ever had points not merge when you mirrored geometry over? I'm mirroring the other half of my head model over the X axis but a lot of the points in the middle where the two halves meet refuse to join up.

I've used set value on the border points to make sure that they're set to 0m on the X axis. Merge points is checked in the mirror tool. What's the deal? They won't even merge when I try to merge points. I have to manually go through, select all the points in the middle and merge them. It's a real pain in the ***.

hmm never had that happen, but do they refuse to join up even if you select "Fixed" in the merge points requester?

you might have endomorphs. even if endos are not active this can cause this weird behavior. have you tried using the FIXED option instead? it might work.

I find if you set all the axes in the Mirror tool dialogue box to zero it works okay.

Yes I've had it too.
Apart from the endomorphs problem it can also happen sometimes out of thin air. I suspect a rounding issue.
