OOO!!! I love posting to anatomy threads!

First off I like to say great attention to detail. I can really see that you are trying to consider all parts of the human body. However, I think that your proportions may be a little off if you?re going for that realism thing? The almighty fineart.sk is a great resource for anatomy reference. I?d recommend doing a few more isolated 2D&3D studies on muscle structure, rib volume, skeletal structure etc to get a better handle on anatomy. Anatomy is definitely one of the hardest things to do in 3D accurately. Just a thought =)

One trick that I use, if its even a trick, is to create a VERY simple 3d ?rough? model and place it in the background layer as a reference for basic proportions/volumes only, no detail!!!!. This is a great way to tell if your basic anatomical shapes are accurate. Creating a simple elliptical shape and extending or bevel it up a few times, adjusting the modeling the front and side view ports, is all you need to get a good torso shape. If the rough model is still a litte off when you?ve finished its shape, you can edit it is fast as you are only adjusting 3 or 4 points as apposed to 10 to 20 points if you go straight to a detailed model. Much faster and less stressful, and that?s always a ?good thing??no I don?t watch Martha Stewart. The same technique can be applied to the arms and legs, even the head but that?s a little trickier. I hope this helps. Keep posting the progress.

Great work

Hello,

I dont know if you are going for a realistic look, but I will assume that you are.

You have done a good job getting the shapes of all the muscle in, but they are not very beliveable because your forms seam flat and boxy. Try reshaping the points and making it look more organic and less rigid.

One thing I do to help me see where square / flat edges are is turn up the specularity on the surface.

Keep up the work, you are going in the right direction!

Thank very much for you helping me.

I'am trying for the realistic look.
I'll try looking into more reference pics. to see the way the muscle structures are.
again thanks alot
