Dear all,
I've a problem!
In the images hattached you can see the light settings and the result!
Why the caustic effect is like a noize?
I try to increase the accuracy but I dont have good image!
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I've tried to animate the light!
It' terrible!!!
The noize is animated!
It seems solved in difference way in every frame!

does turning on "shading noise reduction" make a differance?

It's a little better but not so much.
I have noticed that the result change if I change the scale of the object!
Is it?

Well creating correct caustics without 1/rē light falloff is in general pretty impossible, so it's no surprise caustics intesity does rapidly change with scene scale...
but i never liked LWs caustics much anyway.

I've done a little bit of experimentation regarding the intensity of LightWave's caustics, and they seem to be very strange, unpredictable, depending on factors which should be unrelated...I don't even understand it enough to say what exactly is wrong. :grumpy:

That's not to say it can't be a useful feature for making pretty images.

criodesign, disable "cache caustics" and turn on motion blur. The more antialiasing passes you use, the more times LW will recompute the caustics, and the average of many passes of randomness will converge to a smooth final result.

Also, if you move the light closer to the object, more of the virtual photons will hit the object and you'll get higher quality caustic light.

this is really interesting!
I will try to change this settings and i will tell you the result!
Thank you

What do you think about this image?

That looks pretty good. What are the settings for the glass surface, and what are your caustic settings? Still maxed out?

What do you mean? I'm sorry for My English but as a good italian person i dont speak a very good english!!!
