i was just able to finally figure out how to set-up my network rendering for Vegas 6 and AE w/Grid iron and it been pretty cool not to wait for things to process not that it took that long to render stuff to begin with.

i know Newtek has render nodes[???] for lightwave to distribute processing to several computers.

would it be possible to do the same thing with Toaster? not only for rendering long projects for import to a DVD authoring or transfering, but also to allow underpowered toaster PCs to background process clips on the timeline over a network. what person doesn't have an extra computer [especially w/ a slower processor] lying around? we might as well put it to use instead of trashing it. i think every little bit of speed helps.

i think network processing would also help with live switching especially shows that are heavily dependent on using toaster ddr.

J, the good news is that very soon, single computers will be fast enough for any software task we need today.
The bad news is that software will always be 1/2 a computer ahead! :compbeati
