Hey guys,

I'm trying to render a frame using radiosity, but I get some sort weird scale shadow thing, as you can see in the attached images. My set up is lightdome set up shown in the radiosity tutorial on Newtek's site.

The bottom rendering does not use any global illumination, just one normal spot light, and the surfaces looks clean.

Help~

Here is the normal spot light image.

I guess this happens when radiosity settings are to low and/or the used HDR-Image (if any) has too much contrast.

Thanks, I got it!

Just had to adjust the "Rays Per Evaluation" :)

Can we see it? .. please.. I love a nice radiosity render.

Also try shading noise reduction, it will clear that up some.

Yeah, a lot of the time, upping the RPE will give you good images, but that consumes a lot of rendering time.
Shading noise reduction will often work, but only really give an improvement if you also have anti-aliasing on. (This is just what I've found from using it..) Or if the RPE is above or at 4X12.
For test renders, keep it below 4X12. AA takes time, but you get nice images, with smoother shading. You'll figure it out.
Nice glasses btw!!
