You first set of links don't work for me. The second post does however.

Did you photo-texture the face? It looks pretty good to me. I can't really see much of the geometry though. The hair is looking pretty good, but I'd put a few more polys in it. You can see some of the angles.

Could we see a wireframe maybe?

I think it's just the hair that's making it look low poly. Your newest image is shaping up pretty well.
