Hello All;
I made a major goofup today. I amd a few friends were working on a Wedding Video and I accidently overwrote the ToasterEdit project we were working on with a different project. I have been creating undo/redo stacks all along but for some reason, I am unable to find any from the project for any day other than today. What happened from my undo/redo projects from previous dayus, or do they get wiped out when I turn the computer off and then on again ? I am able to find some files dated for the past few days but they are only 1 K in size and I don't think they contain any information that would recover the file. Does anyone know why I can't find any undo/redo files for the project I overwrote today ? I worl\ked on it as late as last Friday. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can provide. Tim

When you say overwrote, do you mean you gave it a new name?

Or not?

If you are keeping undo/redo stacks, they should be there.

I have deleted many edits and ahve gotten them back.

You can try "redo all actions"

or in the alternative hit "undo all actions" and start hitting redo redo redo redo redo until it seems like the point you are looking for

If it works, save it with a new name

the undo/redos are in folders.

Wouldn't it be nice to ahve a history like thing in Pshop where you could navigate to the point in the project history that you were actually looking for?

Maybe someday someway ah ah

best of luck on your file recovery

Not exactily the same problem but similar ...

I have a clip I have been trying to color correct,
I haven't figured out why yet but for some reason I like playing with those knobs.:)

Now I need to get back to the original clip and colors. They are really far off.

I did the total undo trick but there is still something there because if I hit bypass it does go to original, but I can't edit it unless I uncheck bypass.

Is there anyway to get rid of ANY and ALL changes done in the edit panel and get back to original clip and settings ???

Thanks

Well, double-clicking on any given control resets it to the default position - so if you do that to all of 'em, it should get you back to square one.

Unless I read it wrong, he saved a different project as the wedding project in which case if he selected save undo, it might have overwritten the wedding undo clips with the new ones. DId you try to go back six or 12 undo steps to see if the old ones where still there?
