i am was thinking about getting the lightwave 3D software and the other software to start creating video games. so i was wondering if a dell deminsion 3000 computer is fast or good enough for this?

im not sure of the exact specs of your dimension 3000 (appears to be a few different configs available) but it appears they are all 2.5GHz or faster machines. Given that i would say yes it will happily run LW. RAM could be important to if you have less than 512meg, but thats easily upgradeable. Supprisling LW is not as that hard on your CPU or hardware as you might think, you play around in LW all day without your CPU really breaking a sweat. But come time to render and yes your computer will have think hard but all an old/slower machine means is that you will have to wait longer for the render to complete. My old computer had an AMD 1.2GHz processor and 512meg of ram and runs LW8.3 fine. Its no match for my AMD x2 4800+ in turns of render times but for what i use LW for there is hardly any difference when modeling or working in layout.

In answer to your question your computer will be fine.
