function keys

Hi all,

I'm a new user and as expected, have yet another question! I use lightwave predominantly on a mac (LW7, MacOS 9.1) and intermitantly on PC's. My problem is that on the PC, the function keys do what they're supposed to, but on the mac they do nothing. I looked at the keyboard control panel but it only assigns function keys to finder functions. what am I missing?

Make sure Full Keyboard Access is turned OFF in System Preferences>Keyboard.

If it's on, I find that F3 selects the dock and stuff like that.

If you are using a Powerbook Ti where the function keys are mapped to volume and display functions, just hold down the "fn" key while pressing the normal function key.

What is this System Preferences>Keyboard of which you speek Darth Mole? I've looked in both my control panels and every lightwave preference panel that I could find, with no luck. System Preferences>Keyboard isn't an OSX thing, is it?

And tigerten, the closest I get to powerbook Ti's is when my drooling face is pressed against the window glass of my local apple resellers!
