Hi all,
waht do you think about my "INCOMPLETE" MD man
also would be thanfull for some tips about how to create a better metal, alu Surface.

looks nice to me! don't know the real one (does it exists?) but maybe alu is a bit reflective? maybe looks good with a soft reflection...

Yes the Walkman exists! but its one of the first! I have one.
With the soft reflections i thought it too but how in the hell i do it.

at the surface editor, enter a percentage in Reflection, then go to tab "enviroment". there u see "reflaction options" where u may enter a "reflection blurring" percentage. try that one ;)

hi sofos,

here's another method if the previous doesn't fit your requirements... there's an Image Filter plugin (press ctrl+f8 to add) called "soften reflections", it has a "blending" option for enhanced effect. this plugin was delivered with my version of lightwave... have fun!

thanks both tips great i totally didnt saw the environment tab in the Surface Editor.
the image filter is a little bit faster than the Surface Editor Method but not quite the best quality.
The Surface is not yet perfect but im definetely on the right way.

hi sofos!

great improvement, both renders very nice. but: the image filter has better lightning, and the surface editor method has better reflaction (that's just my opinion).... did u use the same lightning in both renders?

no lightning is the same, but maybe i had other values on the first image.
But the color is more similar to the original in the second image.

in that case... as i said i don't know the original :D i guess u're finished, except for the backgound wich is maybe to outcoming (if u know what i mean) maybe it should be a little bit darker and bumpier, but for the walkman: nice model AND render!
