Feeling uninspired...

Maybe it's because I've been so tired but lately I've not had much inspiration. Anyway, just to do something in Lightwave, keep mind going and all that I've been sort of working on this for the last few days off and on. Yep, it's a head. The universal thoughtless project. At least it's not your average head. I just started extruding polys and this is what I ended up with. I started texturing it, you can sort of see the bump mapping starting around the eyes. Haven't really decided if I'm going to finish it or not.

Funny how lacking a nose makes something look so... freaky.

I like it. My only comment is perhaps the thickness of the teeth. Looks like he might break one off if he tried to bite anything.

I find i come out with a better product when i KNOW what i want to make before opening up modeler. Just extruding polys and messing around usually ends up with something you're not really happy with, like this. Reference images are also amazingly helpful. Do you know how to draw?

I know Capel...I did say I was feeling uninspired. Sometimes I just like to open up Lightwave and play which is what this is. And I'm an excellent drawer. I draw slow on the driveways on Sunday.

And I didn't say I didn't like it.

Thicken those teeth out and there's plenty to play with. Add some thick veiny look type thing to the head, (think Mekon) and it's creepy enough for anyone :)

Personally, I'd say, keep working on it, I think you could really build on this!

Is drawer a real word? I mean in the way you used it, hrgiger. And i just assumed you probably weren't as happy with this model, looking at your other stuff. It's just not as good. And that whole drawing on the driveways on Sunday.... i didn't get it. Could you explain it to me?

No, drawer is not a real word unless you're simple simon. I was making a joke from the movie RainMan. Raymond says he's an excellent driver and he drives slow on the driveway on Sundays.

I don't know why you guys don't like the teeth, they are my favorite part. I like the shineyness on them.

I like the shape of the head. Small ear holes might look good and add more interest tothe right side of the composition.

Beautifull eyes, wonderful texturing even you're not very inspired !
But maybe the teeth for me look with to much specularity and reflections, only eyes are the reflect of the mind...

I love the eyes and the teeth. I can't help but to keep thinking back to the ninja turtles [but I know it's not!] I wanna see the stage of "The universal thoughtless project" ;)
