View Full Version : LW8 - Orthographic Rendering
It would be SO nice to finally have true orthographic rendering in LightWave. When I need an isometric angle for technical illustrations, using the whole Move-The-Camera-100-Km-Out-And-Zoom-Way-In trick just causes a lot of heartache. Not to mention it produces rendering errors in some instances.

Also very useful for architectural rendering...

Why not Lw8 can render of any point of view..
orthographic, perspective, cams, lights... all
:D
I keep asking for this too, it must be soooooo easy to implement too.
thing is, if you can render non-perspective views in v8 I REALLY hope NT introduce on the fly camera switching during rendering so I don't have to save two copies of the same scene and switch cameras that way!
Agreed Matt, that would be another logical step for them.

I've been requesting ortho rendering for years now. I can't believe Newtek continues to overlook this basic feature. Personally, I will not be upgrading to version 8 unless this issue is addressed. It's mind boggling that a leading 3D developer would let this continue to hang over their head.
Please Newtek, do the right thing!

It would be also great to add QuickTime VR Panorama with specific Camera.

Ortho rendering is also very important for manage projection more easely....(We have a distant light and this is NOT an ortho projection at this time....Just look at MTOR coord system for ref....)
