Motion Designer file format

Is there any documentation for the .mdd file format?

I've looked in the SDK and LW manuals, but didn't find any. If someone out there knows where to find it, or could email it to me I would be grateful.

I've been using the maya2lightwave mel/lscripts. it works great but the point disp. file is very slow and cumbersome. The author may add .mdd support in the future, but is busy in school right now, and I was hoping to get a converter of some sort going in the meantime.

OK, I found a site <http://www.dstorm.co.jp/developer/docs/format/mdd/> that gave me some clues (It's in Japanese, so I still had to make some guesses).

Anybody out there able to translate it to English?
