I need to downgrade from 8.3 to 8.2. Can I just go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs and hit remove on the 8.3 Update entry?
Seems like that should work, but you never know with Windows. :-)
Thanks,
Chris

Actually, I beleive uninstalling 8.3 will uninstall the whole thing. Once you do that then you can just reinstall the versions you want. Is there a reason why you need to downgrade. I ask because some of the problems are solvable.

I'm uninstalling because I'm having a problem with Hyperstars. The guy that wrote it can't repro the problem, but he's running 8.2.
The problem that I'm having is that some stars disappear in a couple of frames when I use ease in/out with camera motion.

Hmmm. Never heard of hyperstars, hopefully someone else has heard of the plugin and knows how to fix your problem. The only thing, I can think of at the moment is the stars being too small, perhaps being removed from AA or field rendering.
Good luck

I installed one of my copies of 8.x on my PC and it seems to have killed my 7.5 modeler (which can't seem to find a DLL even though it's there in the directory is belongs....Re-Install of 7.5 doesn't help, and both layouts work fine. I'm in the middle of work and need 7.5 running till we get comfy with 8.
Is there a recommended install procedure that will keep both these versions alive? Thanks - KK

Since Disk space is so cheap, I always install my new versions in new directories. Works great. I also make shortcuts to each version.
Thats on a PC BTW.

This install of 8 is in it's own directory, even at a different root level than my 7.5 install. I've had this happen with Lightwave installs in the past (5.6 to 6.5, i think). Its as if something in the system directory has been stepped on, as opposed to the program directories. Maybe it's just my HP machine.
In the interrum, I'll use my Mac....

If you want to send the scene I'll try and see if I can reproduce it, I have 8.3 and Hyperstars / Hyperspace. Never noticed stars blinking out before.
