I'm trying to create a "realistic" comet, I wish any suggestions...
For the comet I've used hypervoxel and 2 particle emitter, the first for the fire and the second for the smoke.
Thank you for viewing and comments :)

hmm nice one allready!

good camera tracking, maybe the colors of the fire seem a bitt off compared to the video footage...
im also getting the empression that i see some repetitions in your hypervoxels....( could be me ) :)
up the transparency a bitt for the smoke and ur all done...

good job!

I like it, but it's so annoying when you want to watch the comet impact over the hill!

Looks pretty good.

I do agree that it would be cool to see it impact.
(Hopefully the future plan)

Very nice composing.....One suggestion I would say that the colors in the head of the comet are a bit to vibrant...They should be dulled down a bit and yeah a transperancy mask should be added to the smoke........I like it a lot...looks very realistic....

That's really good as it is. As well as doing what's already been suggested, maybe also make the smoke disperse a little quicker at the end?

Thanks for sharing the scene - I for one learn much faster when I've got an example to play around with so I will find this really useful.

And yes, I agree with the others - please make it impact!!

Adrian.

How was the camera tracking done. Or with what application/software. What was used to composite the whole thing together? Great work by the way!

Ahh, i like your commet. It reminds me of the ones that are shown at the beginning of Smallville every week. DOes it take long to composte that, how do you go about doing it??
