hi guys.

Because of really slow render times I was getting with radiosity I have looked into bounce lights (helped by the great gerardo).

Still very much in progress but just wanted to get some feedback as I go. I know the scene needs some more lighting up.

Any crits on lighting and texturing most welcome.

cheers for looking

Howdy, Rob

Looking great so far. Just two things though...
A. The chair/sofa on the left - looks like feet aren't on the floor.
B. The bricks look too big.

In southern USA, this type of brick is typically 8" x 2.66" x 4", roughly.
For quick visual reference -
three bricks high (vertical) = 1 foot
three bricks across (horizontal) = 2 feet

I like the floor texture, but it's also maybe too large. This may just be personal taste, however, as all flooring isn't typically the same.

I also like the way you're going with the lighting, but it seems a tad dark.
Sure does render quickly though, eh?

All in all, I say "great job".

Three brick courses should equal 8" (2.66 x 3) unless using "jumbo" size.

Ahh, is this a coinkydink or did you become a little overly influenced by Jason Lee's work? If you did, then you should acknowledge it...if not then my apologies...

Follow the link and click on, "Room With A View", last thumb on bottom right.

i'd say the biggest similarity between the two is the combination of the bricks and the shelves beside the bricks, because its somewhat unique, the other stuff is pretty common for interior modeling.
