Long hair!! Help

I was following the online turtorial on making long hair. I followed everything exactly twice, and for whatever reason when I render the fibers just shoot out in every direction instead of following a path. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need to check apply to named surfaces (the guides) and of course check use long hair guides, lemmie know

The default settings might look like they aren't following the hairguide since they are quite extreme in most cases. Did you try lowering things like lock width, clump size, frizz?

Also, did you remember to create a "root" surface?
