Hi All,

I'm looking for a way to auto setup a DDR to be able to use the DSK fade in and out button to fade in and out a DDR source's audio that is setup in the DSK...any ideas?

Cheers,

no pretty solution here.

Unfortunately, Cue In and Out do not fade audio.
And, since you are in DSK, the Switcher will not send a chase message to mixer (Cue or Follow).

If you know the length of DSK, then drag clip from DDR iinto editor, set fade in and out for video and audio. Drag back into DDR. You can leave DSK turned on and just double click in DDR to roll it.

You could also put DSKFadeIn control utility and Computer audio control utility in editor, set fade in for both. Make it a sub-project, and drag into DDR2. Make another sub-project with DSK fade out and Computer audio fade out and drag that into DDR2 also. Roll the effect in DDR2 and it will control DDR1 (if patched onto DSK). Unfortunately, found a bug that this method does not light up the DSK button on switcher... and therefor does not truigger the DDR Cue mode. I just wrote this up as a bug, maybe we can get it into 4.5 release.

Hi Aussie,

Thanks for the info and suggestions...

Unfortunately this is for a LIVE show dealing with an open that is not timed out...They go from the DDR2 in the DSK to a chromakey virtual set...and it isn't timed into it...And since the cue functions just stop the DDR2's clip after the transition...it has an abrupt stop of the audio.

Due to needing some way to cover up key FXs the DSK is critical in doing so...So a DDR full in the DSK or another camera etc...is a basic part of the setup...

I have some hopes that a Midi plugin will allow Realtime fader control of the VT's audio thus help deal with this sort of...but to be able to have a fade in/out with the DSK is needed along with being able to just let it play thru...

Cheers Mate,
