AutoCad 2000 Import

Can anyone help me understand why when I bring a file from AutoCAD 200 home from school, and choose import EPSF ...it looks like it worked but....no object is visible. I have tried exporting from AutoCAD as an EPS file....no dice. It's just a simple gear for gosh sakes! :)

...oh and ...YES I have the plugin in my /utillity/in-out directory.

I don't know why, but I can only assume ACAD doesn't write proper EPS. On the other hand LW's EPS reader is outdated and only reads the most rudimentary EPS.

two problems...

1. autocad writes crappy eps files.

2. lightwaves eps import is crappy


solution.

export from autocad 2000 as autocad r12 DXF format file.

you might have to scale up or down to translate between autocads coordinate system and lightwaves.

Thanks for the idea's, I'm on my way to school to export that gear file to DXF....I haven't tried that yet...I'll let you know what happens.
